Instagram Accounts You Should Be Following

Sometimes instagram can get us down looking at other people’s seemingly-perfect lives, all of the luxury items we can’t afford, vacations we can’t take; it tends to drain us. I’ve discovered a few accounts that do the opposite-they make me feel happy, positive, and recharged. If you’re feeling down, check these profiles out.

@Esteezonline

@Esteezonline

At first glance, Esteezonline looks like a normal clothing company until, however, you enter their Instastories, and you’ll see that their account is so much more than cute clothes. Annette and her husband Dayhan are the stars of the show. Annette, with her bubbly personality combined with Dayhan’s hilarious shenanigans, these two have the most perfect dialogues. They aim to inspire and infuse everyone’s day with laughs. Their morning conversations became such a hit that some of their regular sayings have become standard sayings in homes across North America and beyond! I know they’ve influenced me to think more about what’s for suppa.

Shira is just a ball of sparkles and spunk from her iconic colored wigs to her adorable mini model children, her life screams confetti and unicorns. Her daily doses of inspiration and weekly insights on the torah portion are always accompanied by a colorful picture or a pastel-colored challah. Shira’s bubbly personality and positive outlook on life make her the life of the party on instagram-after all it IS a confetti party.

Fan friday displays the hundreds of Hardcor Snackers who have fallen in love with Esther’s page. Her Canadian accent and hilarious shenanigans with total strangers make her loved by all. She’s a 10 out of 10 on the Harcor Scale!

@Upside_of_Goni

Upside of Goni is a page that focuses on the lives of the adorable Yoni and Goldy, two children with Down’s Syndrome. Their page sheds light on the beauty of parenting a child with DS. Candid moments are shared of these beautiful children who are incredibly well dressed at all times. I know for myself, this instagram account has brightened my day. Yoni and Goldy are holy souls that shine so bright. Yoni is a cancer warrior who is so cute and funny, and knows how to pose for his momma. Goldy is just so adorable and her outfits are always on point. When I asked Yoni and Goldy’s mother what the goal of her page is, she said, “I want the world to treat my children with respect and dignity with the hope of them being fully included in society. We are all more alike than different and kids with DS are not less.” Safe to say Upside of Goni has helped so many people look at children with DS in a more positive light.

As someone with a background in developmental psychology, I’ve learned about many different diseases and disorders children can have. Chris Ulmer interviews individuals with a variety of different conditions. These individuals tell their stories. In turn, these scary conditions that I learned about became less scary. The posts allow me to see a person before I see a diagnosis. This page has taught me to be more open to people who look different than I do. Special Books by Special Kids’ page allows people to see that we are all people with feelings, hopes, and dreams. It allows people to count their blessings, and look at what is beneath the surface.
